The iClever IC-BTS02 bluetooth speaker has really surprised me with it’s build and sound quality. Over the past year, I have had my hands on many in-expensive bluetooth speakers, and those that have been as affordable as the iClever have either appeared cheaply made or have had limited audio range. The iClever bluetooth speaker is seriously good value for money and is one of the best compact bluetooth speakers you will find for under $29.99.

I tested the iClever with my Moto-G and iPad via the Bluetooth connectivity and found it paired and functioned perfectly with a range of applications including iTunes, Google Play, Soundcloud, YouTube and Grooveshark. I was also able to make use of the buttons on the device to manually switch / shuffle tracks and adjust the volume levels on all applications without any issues.
Another feature which I was interested in was the direct connection via the audio cable, to make use of the iClever as a desktop PC speaker. Once the audio cable is attached, all bluetooth activity is blocked and audio is delivered via the 3.5mm input.
IC-BTS02 iClever Bluetooth Speaker – Design
Most bluetooth speakers are made from a moulded plastic shell. The iClever, however, is actually made from metal with a highly polished dark chrome finish. The body is square in it’s design, with rounded edges and a neat blue band in the centre that pinches the body. The top has a perforated cover to protect the speaker which is also neatly finished with a blue trim. The front features the bluetooth pairing and call answering button, while all the other buttons are positioned on the base of the speaker.
It could be argued that having the volume and track buttons on the base of the speaker makes them a little inaccessible. However, as with most bluetooth speakers, the volume and track selection control is taken care of by the actual device the vast majority of the time. The base of the iClever has a rubberised texture that grips really well to the surface it’s on and prevents any audio vibration.
IC-BTS02 iClever Bluetooth Speaker – Sound Quality
Possibly the most impressive feature of the iClever IC-BTS02 Bluetooth speaker is the actual audio quality it generates. The sound is surprisingly deep and rich for such a compact speaker. There is minimal distortion even when the speaker is at it’s maximum volume and the audio is loud enough to fill a fairly large room.
The video below demonstrates some of the speakers features and demonstrates the difference in sound when compared to the audio coming directly from the phone.

I have an identical Bluetooth speaker, but it’s not called the iclever.
