Spigen F310W Wireless Charger – Full Review
The Spigen Essential F310W comes in a very attractive retail box along with a power adapter and multi-language user-manual. The power adapter has an integrated type-C cable that connects to the rear of the charging pad.
While I do like to see a Type-C input port, I’d have liked it even more if there was another one on the wall adapter. This would have given me the option to buy a longer cable and plug it directly into the power unit. The cable length is not terrible at 120cm (4ft) which I’m sure will be fine for most people. I just happen to have the most awkwardly placed plug socket in relation to my bedside cabinet. – A few extra inches and it would have been perfect.
Length issues aside, the power unit feels robust and of decent quality. It has a 12V/3A output and features the standard UK three-pin arrangement.
For those ordering the Spigen F310W from outside of the UK will no doubt get a suitable two-pin mains adapter specific to your geographic location.
Design and Build Quality
The main unit measures 187x90x11mm (7.3×2.5×0.4 inches) and feels reassuringly weighty at 280g (10oz). The oval-shaped housing is made from aluminium with a sandblasted finish and features a neat chamfered edge.
The top of the Spigen wireless charger features a matte black rubber surface with a diagonal ribbed detail. This not only looks stylish but also makes it very easy to correctly position each phone.
Likewise, the underside of the charging pad also features a rubber surface. This, combined with its overall weight gives the F310W a very stable and reliable placement.
It’s unlikely to get mistakingly nudged along the table –This is a common problem with most of the other Qi wireless charging pads I’ve tested.
Features and Performance
The Spigen F310W Qi Wireless charging pad supports dual charging at a maximum 10W on each side. This speed will be dependant on your smartphone, those that lack Qualcomm Quick charge compatibility will charge at slower rates.
If you’re an iPhone user with the latest iOS the wireless charge speed should be 7.5W rather than the full 10W output.
The F310W is fully CE certified and compliant with EU regulations. It features over current, over voltage, short circuit and static resistance protection.
Most Qi wireless charging pads will have an LED indicator light. These can be notoriously bright in a dark environment. The Spigen dual wireless charger will only display the light for a period of 60 seconds before switching off. This makes it perfect for overnight charging on your bedside table.
I really struggled to find anything to be critical about with this product. The build quality is top-notch, it has a clean minimal design with a weighty feel. It’s super easy to position your phone to start wireless charging and the rubber surface grips it reassuringly well.
While there are a few other dual wireless charging pads available at a slightly cheaper price, I definitely think it’s worth paying that little be extra to get a quality unit like this one.
