The iClever Bluetooth transmitter and receiver (IC-BTT02) does exactly as the name suggests and it does it well. In recent months I have reviewed numerous Bluetooth audio receivers which are great for enabling music streaming to non-Bluetooth stereos and speaker systems.
The iClever 2 in 1 device, however is also a bluetooth audio transmitter. This feature is perfect if you already own a bluetooth portable speaker or headphone and want to stream music from a device which lacks a network connection. It can be used with a TV, home stereo system, mp3 player, car radio or any other device with a 3.5mm audio socket.
iClever bluetooth transmitter and receiver – Design.
Measuring 33mm x 50mm and only 8mm thick, the iClever IC-BTT02 Bluetooth transmitter and receiver is unbelievably small. The body appears to be made from aluminium and feels surprisingly solid for such a light device. It has a button on the front which is used for power and pairing functions and a small switch on the side to select either the Bluetooth transmitter or receiver modes. The top of the device has a micro usb output for charging, a small LED indicator light and a 3.5mm jack for audio output.

Using the iClever IC-BTT02 as a bluetooth audio receiver.
If you are using a Bluetooth enabled device such as a tablet, phone or laptop, the iClever can be used as a Bluetooth audio receiver by switching it to RX mode. This will allow you to directly connect a set of headphones or speakers and have your audio streamed wirelessly from your device.
I tested this functionality by using an iPad to stream audio to a set of regular earphones connected to the iClever 2 in 1 device. The audio was impressively clear with no interference or latency issues. Useful as a range extender if you want to listen to music from the net using your home WiFi. By leaving you laptop, phone or tablet within your wireless network range and using the iClever IC-BTT02 in RX mode to further extend the range using Bluetooth.
Using the iClever IC-BTT02 as a Bluetooth audio transmitter.
The Bluetooth audio transmitter feature (TX mode) really got me excited. I own a huge collection of CD’s and I also have 2 old mp3 players jammed full of music that I have neglected in recent years.
To test the Bluetooth audio transmitter mode (TX) I plugged the iClever IC-BTT02 into an old iPod classic and paired it with a portable Bluetooth speaker. The pairing process seemed to take a little longer in transmitter mode, but once it had established a connection to the speaker the audio streamed perfectly.
After the iClever IC-BTT02 has paired with the speaker you can plug it into pretty much any device with a headphone output. I used it as a Bluetooth audio transmitter from my TV, AV receiver, car radio and home stereo system, all of which streamed without any problems at all.

Why did you not test a pair of these devices together ? So we could perhaps make a wireless connection between 2 devices without bluetooth. Thanks. Peter
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your comment, I’d like to have attempted that however, I was only sent a single unit. There is a product by a company called Avantree that comes pre-paired and has low-latency codecs to remove any audio-visual delay that might work better in that scenario. here is a link
