The Tile works with iPhone 4S and newer, iPad Mini, iPad 3rd gen and newer, and iPod Touch 5th gen and newer. To activate it you simply depress the ‘e’ on the tile and then hold it to the screen of your device, the app will then automatically add tile to your account.
The Tile operates on a Bluetooth LE signal and has a range of 50 – 150ft depending on the conditions, this could mean you will never have to spend hours hunting down your keys or any other possession you happen to attach a tile to.
If the product does take off, and there are other users with tiles scattered around, they can actually help ping anonymous GPS coordinated directly to your phone, should your tile ever be attached to something that is stolen or lost beyond the range of your device.
The Tile does have a shelf life of 1 year, but at a price of around £12.00 this is fairly affordable especially if it gives you the peace of mind that you will always be able to find your valuables
